Agri-technology Transfer
URUHIMBI KAGEYO COOPERATIVE reachs out to the community to provide installations of hydroponic fodder systems to enable livestock farmers maximize feeds production in small space with smart climate resiliency
How We Work?
Hydroponic fodder system is a growing room that is specifically developed to sprout grains or legume seeds that are very nutritious yet cost effective feed.
A selection of seeds are put into trays without soil and irrigated at pre-determined intervals where temperature and humidity are regulated and this ensures higher growth and best nutritional value possible. By trays, we prevent the accumulation of fungus leading to aflatoxin, which is poisonous.
Benefits of renovation
This is a custom built structure which provide temperature controlled environment for fodder growing. It is built in Hydroponic shade net, timber and concrete floor. Inside is a shelving upon which trays where fodder is grown is placed..
